was ABS an option on those trucks?

I just finished both driveshafts, and I did it for free!!!!!!
I had to extend both driveshafts due to the extended wheelbase, and I had to do it cheap, cuz thats just me. So here is what I did. I cut each driveshaft in half, I then went to Mack, and found a pipe that had the same I.D. as my D-shafts O.D.(well, as close as i could find). It was a PERFECT fit!!!! I had to slightly tap each end togather. The original driveshaft was 1/8" thick and I sleeved it with pipe that was about 3/16" thick. Which I think is plenty for the 56hp 4banger.
FOR FREE!!!!!!! Cuz the owner of mack wasn't there and so younger guy workin didn't feel like getting on the computer(plus it had a little surface rust), so he just gave it to me.... I had EXACTLY enoung to do both driveshafts. The pic with the piece on the block of wood was what I had left.
YES!!!!! I know it's GHETTO, but it will work and it was FREE!!!!!

I was going to make square driveshafts, but I only had a difference in length of 1 1/4" from full drop to full compression, and the factory splines have over 4"s of slip. So I really didnt have to have the excess slip. I figured that this is the cheapest and best way to do it. What do ya'll think???
Costs to date
Sammi $400
degreed perches $70(waste of money, should of made my own)
Metal for bumpers and gussets $60
Metal for shackles $8
Brake lines $free
Driveshafts $free
Hardware grade 8 $40
Metal for spring plate $free ( used ryan's scrap from his)
Total $578
I also had a few bushings layn around, and some welding rods, grinding discs, etc.
Dang you picked that sammi up for $400? I can't find a rig at all for less than like 1000... sheesh. Those driveshafts look really good!
Its not who ya know or who ya blow, its how you blow who you know!

(Could be the weather too). So I was thinking a purple or lime green. Anyone have any thoughts? Also what is a really good brand of paint (that looks good and that also goes on easy) that is also cheap?
I think purple with some silver accents would be nice.......
all chrome, keep it blingtastic

Here are some before and after x-mas.
We are going to have to do alot of trimming in the rear, and a little in that front. We are alot going to add some spacers cuz at full lock the fronts are hitting the springs pretty bad.
33" TSLs...
I also put all the brake lines on and put the driveshafts in...
Next we will be working on the fuel system and trying to local some gears.
