I would use a 9k mount like posted above and put an m12000 on it. make sure you can hook it up for a double pull.

that would be awsome and makes the most sence

I'm going to mount my 8000lb Warn to my existing Ranchand grille guard (not replacement bumper) for a trip I have coming up. Something like what JB posted is what I'm thinking. Is there something I can buy like this or am I going to have to build it?

Warn has a "transformer" series that I think you can make look like that.

So, I had Luis order me a "universal" front reciever hitch for the Duramax. It was a little over $100 and the quality looked good, so I was happy. I tried to install it tonight and discovered that it "universally" sucked.

The mount is made to fit under the front valence (i.e. the thing that Wade has ripped off multiple times). This design changes the front clearance from like 11" to 7". Seriously, I think my Chevelle has more than 7" of bumper clearance. I thought this thing would mount where the reciever came out the valence.

Seeing as to how there was no return policy, I took and started cutting. I was able to reuse the square tube and one of the pre-drilled mounting holes (flipped it upside down). I made 2 brackets for the hitch. I have all the holes drilled (I used all existing holes in the frame). I just have to weld it out tomorrow and bolt it down. The draw-tite hitch mounted with 4 bolts, this will use 6, Originally the hitch was rated at 9000 lbs, since I have increased the bolts by 50% the hitch is therefore now rated to 13,500 lbs, right?

WIth the carrier installed and the "access hole" I cut in the valence so you can access the reciever pin. I will make a little license plate holder, that will pretty much cover it most of the time.

The hatchet cut edges on the receiver don't give it away? That valence looks Beaumonterrific now.

Crap, I don't know how I missed that first picture of it that you posted.

I thought I remembered you saying this, but it has been a while so I wasn't sure that you might not have found one and I forgot you posting about it or just not saying anything about it yet.

Yeah, John and I are polar opposites, like with off roading, I have a piece of ****, but actually go off roading. John has "Assbanger 1" that he likes to keep in a garage and never go off roading....
