stock everything else

figured out shocks are mandatory and i need much lower gearing. doubler and 5.29's are definitely in order. need to move the steering box forward. half ass strip the back interior and add toolboxes, replace rear blocks with springs, replace every crappy toyota hose clamp with the generic kind.

overall, it seemed to do ok all things considered, just needs more time and $$$ to make it capable. appearently 22re's dont need oil pressure or water to run.

I would get a front drive shaft with more than 8-10 inches of travel, and shocks:flipoff2:

i think the side steps and the front valance on the bumper probably would have helped you out.

just a matter of finding the right springs to use. i was tightening them when the glorious trail leader made yall come back for me.

56" chevys, blocks, shackles and antiwrap bar. Use steel blocks with tight-fitting centerpins and locknuts on your ubolts. Getting enough lift for the rear with just springs is gonna leave you with some really arched, stiff springs.
and I wouldn't go 5.29s if you ever wanna drive on the highway

5.29's would be too much for 35-37in tires? I would think 5.29's would be needed to make it up a damn overpass

5.29's and 37's are perfect together for the 22RE. Which transmission does the Runner have? I am assuming a standard with his comment about Dual Cases.

I didn't see where he was going to 37s. I am on 35s with 4.10s and still roll 5th gear on the highway when my motor's running right. The 22re doesn't like to scream. 4th gear gets you up the overpasses

I squawked the stock 28" tires running Lockrites and 5.29's in my Runner. :gigem: :D
