Everybody gonna have their shizzle fixed by then?
EDIT (COOP): Feb 4-5
I'm fixed now negro, it's awn like Donkey Kong!
I would like to get better steering before then, and I did say I wasn't spending anymore on the truck until I got my own place, so....I'm down for a definite maybe....
my shizzle didn't break, so ill be there
I drove my shizzle to work today, and at lunch realized I hadn't gotten gas since driving back from clayton, so yeah, if I don't have to work and the midget in the motor hasn't finished it off yet, I should be there.
i've been driving my jeep since tues. doing a break job on the dodge. might be cold then.
so that is my deadline... here we go i guess
you can do eet!
i think i can too... anyone wanna run my breaklines... i think breaks are the devil
I should be ready by then, as long as no "demons" attack it.
thats like two months away, there is no reason you couldn't be ready, demons or not (well unless the jeep explodes).
I'm in, I just hope that isn't the week before the first set of midterms
hmmm want to try the neattos up there
im not really going to this... i am gonna shoot to have the bronco ready by then but will not be taking it to katemcy till tcc IV... this sum***** is gonna be hard to get to the trail... i gotta get atleast 5 runs to 47 to work out all the little bugs before i am willing to drop the change to haul it hundreds of miles
When's the opening run?
im thinking this is it read feb 3-4... although they said late jan so who knows
I'm down. Tate, I can do brakelines for you, if you're not in a hurry. I re-did the entire system in pigpen and got fairly good at cutting and flaring.
Sounds like a plan. I'll see if I can motivate the rest of the Sulphur crowd, if noting else I need a date to have my coils finished by anyway.

I seriously had to practice a ****load. I did like 2 dozen before I started making good ones. The secret is to mount the line clampy piece in a bench vice, and then when you clamp the line in it make absolutely sure the two pieces are perfectly flat. PERFECTLY. Next, I used a 1/8" drill bit to smooth out the end of the tube, since the little circle cutter left a lip on the inside. Then just make the flare slowly. Practice is good.Quote:

Thats where the bench vice comes into play. The clampy part is clamped in the vice and you have a wrench to slip over the head of the end masher. Its not hard, unless you're a nancy boy...
I might make it also. You'll know when the Cruiser is loaded on the trailer and I'm driving out of town. :D
Let's see, the to-do list for this one includes:
- build beefier mounts for the anti-wrap bars
- speed up steering box/flow if possible
- add a few welds to the last round of upgrades JIK
- mount 3 YO shocks
- finish floor? overrated? :)
- fix cage? doubtful.
I can show you how to mod a saginaw power steering pump for more flow. I did the mods to mine and it worked really damn well in Clayton.
I should be in my house then so....
Build New Crossmember: $0
Hydro Assist (box is tapped and I have the pitman arm): $250
I'm in! I think between that an a little smaller pulley (if I can find out) I'll be in good shape. I realized in Clayton that most of my driving is done between 500 and 1500 RPMs, so I need to speed the pump up a little also I think. We'll see, maybe you're magic will make that step obsolete. I'll touch base with you after the holidays.Quote:

ill be there and im sure CJ will be too.. this trip is always a blast. missed last year because they changed the date, but went the 2 years before that.
-new rear 1 piece shafts---maybe add disk brakes while its apart
-put winch back together
Do alot of people normally go out there that first weekend, or is it kinda slow? Either way I want to try looney toons out this time.
The club from Corpus, WFO, is thinking of going out there. If they do yall have the opportunity to see the ****tiest, cheapest blazer rollin on 44s you'll ever find.
I think I'm in. I'm co-oping with the new Toyota factory in San Antonio this spring, so I'll be in the area. However, I need to finish my Dana 44, regear the axles, and trim the fenders. I think I'll be done, but I'll be pushing it close because I won't be getting any money until the end of January. I'm still trying to purchase a locker or two, etc.
If you need any help wrenching give me a call and I'll see what I can do. You have a place to stay in SA?

Thanks. Yes, I do have a place to stay. I'm actually from Boerne, but I'll be staying in an apartment at I-10 and Huebner. Anyway, we'll see what I can get done.
How long does the trip take when hauling a trailer (from CS)? I'm thinking 4.5 hours, but I don't really remember.
a little over 4 hours sounds about right, depending on your speed
Takes me around 3 1/2 hrs to get to my dad's place in Bandera. BTW what is everyone doing for overnight arrangements. Are we all on our own or what?
At mason? You camp. There is basically just a big parking area and you throw up a tent wherever you want. There are outhouses there for you to use
there are also places in town if your a big puss but camping is where its at there
