I will most likely be there, most likely without jeep but who knows
I will have my ranger and I have a room at the A&A main building
In with xj (The OD) leaving right after i graduate which is the 18th....
If you sir can graduate and ditch your parents fast enough to make Clayton, then bravo to you sir!
Oh with God as my witness I will be in clayton on the 18th. I have yet to make it out there and i have been in the club for 3 and a half years
What do you have to get done before Clayton?
I pulled my Lock Right out today and it needs a new pin kit/d60.:D
Also need to figure out why my t-case keeps popping out of gear, even with my super Jeep-bro Novak shifter. It pops out of 4lo and grinds like a mofo, then will re-enagage by itself or i'll pull the shifter just barely and it will stay in for a little bit longer.
Also need to find a proper trailer. I rented one for Hidden Falls, and it was janky.
I need to put rear shocks on.
I need to get my new tires put on, replace a busted brake line, replace my shifter cable, and replace my inner axle seals.
I need to get in the car Saturday morning and show up before you ****ers wake up :flipoff2:
Considering going. If I do I will take the cj7 which still needs a bunch of work. The cj5 is in pieces and a long way from being done.
I need to do a disc brake conversion on the rear of my jeep or just fix the drums because they are leaking. Also, I need to replace all of the bushings inside my rod ends on the 3-link and make sure my heater is working haha.
I am thinking about stocking up on parts that may break on the trail so does anyone have any advise on what parts i should keep in the tool box in my jeep just in case?
U-joints, t-case yoke, axle shafts, spare drive shafts, those are the common pieces that go pop. As for your brakes, I would probably just tear down your drums and replace the brake cylinder in there, odds are that is what is leaking and probably costs ~$20 at O'reilly's. Good afternoon project.
This. Cheap and easy
Did you have a spare tire? TSL, despite being "Gods Tire", like to rip open in Clayton.:flipoff2:
You have that winch, but it will suck hanging off the back at Clayton. I would rework either the carrier or the stinger to make it work up front.
Lighting is also a good thing to have for night runs.
I do not have a spare right now actually I didnt even think about that. And ya i need to do something about that winch. I am also planning on running some rock lights. My brother is an electrical engineer and he said he could wire up whatever I want him to so im putting him on winch, light, and CB duty. I have spare u joints and drive shafts so I guess axle shafts are the next spare i need to get as well as a wheel and tire.
some fluids and radiator repair stuff/ all around fixall like jb weld is a good idea
Hahahah no he knows what he is doing. He has wired all kinds of stuff. From rewiring our entire boat to motorcycles to my old truck to lighting and sound equipment for Kyle Park. Dude knows what he is doing.
Wiring up lights does not require an electrical engineer. It requires 5 min on google and an hour in the garage
Ya I know ha but I dont feel like doing it and he loves doing that crap.
The wife and I are heading up Thursday night.
Jb, i potentially have a trailer you could borrow. Spears has trailer too.
been working on it so it looks like im gonna make it. waiting on parts
to do:
swap front axle with red cj
re gear rear axle/ instal locker/ one piece shafts
instal winch
maybe swap transfercases with red cj to get 4 to 1
sawzall rear fender openings and install new metal flares
finish installing front tube fenders
wire speakers
instal new rear bumper
new 1" body mounts
plenty to do.
35;s with no lift...... hopefully this works out
i painted the front bumper today
One pic stock fenders. Other is tube fenders. Add a 1" body lift that is integrated into the new body mounts and looks like plenty of room. Not much up travel with stock suspension. I will confirm with forklift.
What is the square hole below the driver's door? Is that a Jeep option? auto trash dumpster?
speed holes, haven't you heard of them? Actually a po siliconed a patch over the hole then bedlined over it. It fell of so i'm welding it in before I put on the slider on that side. The rest of the rust repairs seen to have been welded. Honestly body would need to be replaced if I were to make a really nice cj so i'm not to worried about it.
Where did you get the body armor from?
the tube fenders and rear flares are genright 4" flares (from craigslist) and the corners are smittybuilt xrc, much thicker and better than I thought (also craigslist). I was so impressed with the corner guards for the money spent that I ordered the sliders from amazon and they are also smittybuilt xrc so they would line up correctly with the corner guards.
