I think I'd rather swap axles than untangle that mess
i did the dammage 2 days after i picked it up... didnt even transfer any money to the dealership yet
luckily we had boltcutters there... took me about 45 min to cut off
althought the axle seal now leaks... dont know if it did already though
This thing had less than 14,000 miles on it when i picked it up... the guy at discount tire said please dont wheel it... it has scratches now though so i broke it in right away
Now that I actually paid attention to your sig I see its a 2004. Must be an early one as it doesn't have the trail rated badges.
What are your plans for it?
ok now for the buildup part. I am gonna start with a rear bumper for obvious reasons and then move to sliders... i am gonna leave the axles stock for now... if we spend any money on gearing it will be in the transfer-case first... but that is time away... i just taught Elise to drive standard on the road... we will have to do some driving offroad before we lift it or anything.... i just want to put some armor on it and some towhooks because for some reason i have 0
I need ideas for rear bumpers. I really like the design of the Fab-fours one but i dont have a break so i would have to cut all the little pieces and weld it together turning a bumper into a 3 month project.. i was thinking 2x4 box since i have some laying around but dont think it is thick enough for a tire-carrier. speaking of which what spindle do i use?
Urge to kill rising.
did i do something to offend you fred?... besides adding another jeep to the club
i took the bumper off a min ago to see how the mounting surface was and found a hide a key... so now i have 4 keys... who needs that many keys to one rig
TJ talk/build....makes my skin crawl still.
sorry the wife wanted a jeep because they were small enough for her to see good in... and i just wanted something 4wd again
What are you talking about gearing? You've already got 1ton axles under that Bronco. SWAP!!:D
i have not given up on it as much as i have put it on a side burner... so no
plus the front gears in the 60 havnt been set yet... i finished the 10.25 a few months back, just need to add caliper brackets to the disc setup
please, that sh!t is off the burner, in some tupperware, and at the bottom of the freezer under some old meatloaf, a free turkey, and a dead hooker's liver. In 2 years you'll dig it up while trying to find the last blue otter pop, and will throw it away as it is unidentifiable due to freezer burn.
seriously though... i want rear bumper design suggestions
i might build the sliders first because i know exactly what i want in them and i dont see that taking too long... i dont think i can make it across town to the steel yard before they close so i guess i will do that tomorrow... i am going to use 1/4" plate and mount it from the body mounts and then weld a piece like it was dont at 90 with a break... then use some 1" square tube and build a step off it... my wife wants a step and i told her the nerf bars had to go
thanks i guess i could have done that
but actually helpful... jimmy's simple mind makes things easier
I like this one... looks like it 3"x4" box.... i dont know how easy that is to find but i can look... what spindle should i use for the tire carrier?... i will check out TSC for trailor parts to possibly use
