:flipoff2:
put a ball on the back of that and were in business
i am doing that to the red trailer, just have to convince somebody to let me haul another one up there to test out the highway patrol on the way up there. :D
I have a trailer that I am not going to be using, it is in Corpus. PM me if you are interested
I will call ya tomorrow about it. :D
I still need to buy:
4.10 R/P for D30/44
Aussie for D30
A selectable for the 44 (OX?)
Extra shafts/u-joints
rocker gaurds
and install all of it, plus new springs, and a new manifold.
Think I might be over my head, money wise...
nah, dont even try to get all that stuff. Buy the rocker guards and go up and wheel it just the way it is. If you find yourself in a problem, someone else will give you a tow
While I agree with not trying to jump in that much this close, at least try to find you some spare shafts and joints though. There is enough of us with winches to be able to drag you around on some of the harder stuff. The lockers will more than likely just get you into positions to break your shafts quicker right now.
Per request, we have about 18 rigs and 40 people by my count. It is probably a little low as there are still people who have not posted up yet, and others who are still on the fence about things and I haven't put them on the list yet.
EDIT:I added this to the bottom of the first post. Lots of folk coming, but there are a bunch more still to come I am sure.
Well, I am buying the 44, its not installed. As the bank account sits, I should have 650 after the 44...
My income is a little inconsistent, but I would really like to at east have the 44 in. And if I'm doing that I'm locking and re-gearing...
I'm bringing the gf with me if it matters...
Are there going to be very many people wheeling on a similar level as me?
yes. last year there were two groups. 5 rigs doind hard stuff, and then all the rest on more moderate runs.
Ok don't buy rocker guards. Get some 5"x3"x1/4" angle iron from Byran Iron and metal. Buy/offer money for beer and find someone to help you make rocker guards, they are ridiculously simple to make and bolt to the tub of the jeep.
I will bring some extra axle shafts and if you need them I will sell them to you there so don't spend your money on them right now.
Really I wouldn't do anything else this time around, it will teach you to drive better and figure out what you really want.
X2
Just get out there on the trail with us and let that help drive your decesion on what to do in the future. No need to build a Jeep three times, just figure out where you really want to be in the future and build that. Replace / rig with cheap parts till you can get there
So looks like I will be building some of those rocker guards, so I can cross those off the list. No shafts eather...
Thanks for the suggestion! saved me some money. :gigem:
I still need to :
4.10 R/P for D30/44
Aussie for D30
A selectable for the 44 (OX?)
build rockers
(install all of the above)
install springs (might need an adj. tracbar)
install new manifold
