bring that biznatch over, i'll be back friday.
get the f250 fuel pump, and i know where a bell housing is and i think he wanted 75 for it but if you are interested i will call and ask. it is currently bolted to a 465 that is also for sale(4wd)
Will do Brandon.
Let me know Colman, but for $75 I would think it would come with that trans. I was thinking they were pretty cheap.
couldn't find any easy to get to bellhousings today.

This one has the flywheel, but don't you need a 4wd sm465, or does the klune adapter work on both?
This is more my speed: http://austin.craigslist.org/pts/447237621.html
flem's find has all the newest goodies..1991 was the last year for the 465. I think it has a back up sensor on it as well so it will light the back up lights...aren't the bearings and some other upgrades w/ that tranny? Fred, didn't you do some digging on this topic?
no, the transmission I did research on gm quit using in 1967. But it does have a reverse light switch on it.
for 1500 you could have had the grey truck with its NV4500 and motor.
jerry's got a tpi for sale
85 and later SM465's came with hydraulic clutches (as opposed to mechanical) and 32 spline outputs (as opposed to 10). Regardless of year, they all had reverse light switches.Quote:

EDIT - Lynda's has both, it's a 10 spline
It's a shame you didn't put a see-thru cover on that bling Scott.... -pimp-Quote:

WTF is a neutral safety switch?
Disables the starter solenoid so you can't start in gear.
you should have come to karls on sat....jones had a different take on it :gigem:Quote:

Good one Ed!
I picked up a bell housing today. The last big peice of this weekend's puzzle. That added to my long list of goodies from O'Relly the other day. We're on for tomorrow night. We'll be at Brandini's shop if anyone wants to come hang out. We're planning on moving the Cruiser over there and will start putting it together. If we make excellent progress, we may get it stabbed tomorrow night. Hopefully things go quickly. If not, we have the weekend. :)
give me a call tomorrow dave, i am heading out of town right after lunch. I'll get you the keys.
Thanks Dave, I aim to please. Take plenty of "I am Cox, ruler of Webworld, the great bringer of old teaser pictures of "my" heep build" spoiler pics while you are there. :D
Scored some replacement Corvette exhaust manifolds also.

Yeah me. :)
Next, I'm posting the list of parts that I bought for my future reference. TAMOR Forums = My Personal Build Wiki
Robert and Seth helped tonight. The engine is in and stabbed. Turns out that you DO need to put the clutch fork on before you stab it. Doh. But just 10 - 15 minutes later we had it back on there. We're becoming pros at stabbing. :)
Steering cooler and filter installed. Flem got about half of the wiring harness together. Seth drank lots of beer and helped us wiggle the engine. The Pete drank beer and passed tools. Thanks for the help guys.
We'll be out there tomorrow if anyone wants to come visit. Motor mounts are the big missing peice right now. Then running all of the fule lines. Mount the steering heim. Keep our fingers crossed for no surprises. Fill it with fluids and go turn some donuts with straight heads. No exhaust manifolds yet. Hopefully they'll be in by late next week so I can get it by the shop for installation and any tweaks.
I have a TBI Power Steering Pump Pulley Puller that I bought in case anyone needs one. I'm storing it in the Cruiser so I'll have it handy.
Parts from O'Reilly:
E2000 - Electric Fuel Pump - 1985 F150 302 - $120
33097 - WIX Inline Fuel Filter - Low Pressure for use before E2000 - $11
33481BP - Fuel Filter - High Pressure for use after E2000 - $6
K060956 - Serpentine Belt - 1990 Suburban TBI 350 - $17
58964 - WIX In-Line Transmission Fluid Filter - $17
401- Hayden Transmission Fluid Cooler - $25
CSA37215 - Best Brakes Clutch Slave Cylinder - 1970 FJ40 - $25
NU1909 - Dynapak Clutch - GM V/8 1973-95 (w/SM465 in this case) - $120
FW96529 - Dynapak Flywheel 168 tooth - $86
910 - Mr. Gasket flywheel bolts - $6
912 - Mr. Gasket pressure plate bolts - $8
Other parts that I may need for future reference:
Toyota External Slave Cylinder - 31470-60022
- Push Rod - 31473
- Push Rod Nut - 94120-41000
- Push Rod End Nut - 31475
Clutch Hose, 7/70-9/71, FJ40 143-4C108 - $42
Not even a mention of my sweet computer bracket, guess I'll have to go back out today and redeem myself.
resizing pics sucks.
Surprise when I opened the clutch slave, it included the push rod. One more part down. I ordered the slave hose from the Toyota dealer today. $27 and 10 days to get it in. I pulled the slave bracket off of the bus and copied it. Man, that made it way easier than starting from scratch again. 15 minutes and I'm ready to weld in the little tubing parts.... which I need to buy tubing tomorrow for it. Those tubes and two nuts welded in place and it's done. Motor mounts are all welded up. Trying to figure out how I can bolt them in place. Not sure if it's going to work. I might have to measure. ;) Painted the steering heim mount. Need the two nuts for it. Made one mount for the fuel parts. Need two more. Buying steel and a few odd and end parts tomorrow.
Thanks Flem for more work on the harness. Got it close enough tonight to figure out the starter is hosed. Robbie was going to make a shocker and build a floor, but we ran out of time. I'm thinking sheet metal screws and a giant mud flap would be perfect. Built in boot. :)
